Munding Residence

La Sagesse / Grenada

The key challenge of the project was the control of wind. To tackle the problem a 'double skin' combination of operable vertical timber louvers and large sliding glass doors provided an appropriate solution. A courtyard was placed where it could be shielded, yet open to the main living area. A sundeck at the roof top (enhanced by built-in concrete benches and low sculptural walls) allowed for the necessary protection from the wind, while maintaining visibility to the ocean.

Success of this project has come through careful site analysis and' tectonic adjustments' that has yield a dynamic structure, rendering a high quality contemporary home for tropical living.
