Renovation of this family residence was necessitated by the passing of hurricane Ivan in 2005 which damaged 90% of the housing stock in Grenada. The design encompassed the reorienting of the verandah to become a more private and intimate space with protection from the busy street, and a rooftop apartment which is set back from the perimeter of the main volume, taking advantage of spectacular mountain views of the Tempe valley.
