This home was designed for a single mother with 2 small children. The key consideration for the project was working within a limited construction budget. To limit the amount of money spent in earthworks, a cantilevered structure was design to reduce the area of the foundation which aided in keeping the cost to a minimum. Full height glazing in the living area was used to allow natural light in the space, and to provide openness, and connectivity to the outdoors for the compact, but efficiently laid out spaces of the home.
