Project Description:
What started as a simple renovation turned into a ‘new build’ after structural defects were discovered in the existing building. From the foliage of the lush tropical landscaping a new split-level contemporary dwelling emerged. Barely visible from the road, a slate covered entry courtyard contains two reflecting ponds.
The interior of the house offers spectacular views of Westerhall Bay which is immediately revealed through sliding glass doors connecting the open-plan living space to the verandah, while bedrooms flank either side of the building. A rooftop terrace as well as an office complete the composition. The material palette was restrained, comprising a mixture of natural stone (delete comma) and hardwoods against a backdrop of whitewashed walls.
